International Cartographic Association – 12th Mountain Cartography Workshop

People, Maps, and Mountains

The ICA Mountain Cartography Workshop is a three-day gathering held every two years. Hvar, an island off the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, was the site for the 2018 workshop. The goal is to bring together cartographers, geographers, and others in a relaxed and beautiful setting to share new developments in cartography, design, and spatial analysis related to mountain environments. Typically, about 50 people from multiple nations attend.

The 2020 workshop will be held at Snow Mountain Ranch, Colorado, which is nestled in a high valley (2,700 m, 8,860 ft) between Rocky Mountain National Park and Winter Park Ski Area. It is a venue sure to inspire everyone involved with mapping mountains.

We hope to see you there!

Tom Patterson, Alex Tait, and Brooke Marston
